How Does it Work?
The fundamental investment objective of the Enwealth Impact Debt Fund is to generate stable, risk-adjusted returns for investors while providing sustainable and optimally priced debt financing to creditworthy Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in Kenya, thereby ultimately reducing the cost of funding to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
- The Fund primarily deploys capital to regulated Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and a select number of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
- MFIs on-lend the funds to SMEs and MSMEs that meet the Fund’s impact investment criteria, including job creation, youth and women empowerment, and the achievement of social and environmental goals.
- Income generated from the Fund’s investments is distributed to investors in line with the Fund’s terms and distribution policy.
